An overnight arson attack on a Catholic church in County Antrim, is being treated as a hate crime.

The damage was discovered early this morning at St Mary's Star of the Sea Church on the Shore Road in Newtownabbey. It is believed flammable liquid was used - causing scorch damage to the front door of the building.

Local Alliance Councillor Billy Webb says the community is shocked and disgusted by what's happened.
