A convicted rapist and murderer in Belgium has had his request for euthanasia granted.
Belgium became the second country in the world to legalise euthanasia in 2002 in cases where patients have incurable and constant physical and psychological conditions.
However, this is the first time a convicted criminal has been allowed to end their own life.

He claimed he was suffering unbearable psychological pain because he couldn't get the treatment he needed.
