FIFA president Sepp Blatter says that no World Cup host nation has ever been so far behind in its preparations as Brazil.

Six of the 12 stadiums have failed to meet the December 31st deadline to be ready for the tournament.

In an interview with Swiss newspaper 24 Hours Blatter also pointed out that the South American country had seven years to get everything ready for the tournament which kicks off on June 12th this year.

"Brazil has come to realise that they started too late. They are the country who are the most delayed since I have been at FIFA," said Blatter who admitted that protests were likely to occur in Brazil at the time of the event.
