A 39-year-old Galway man has drowned in New Zealand.
The body of Finbarr Clabby was discovered at Wellington Harbour yesterday morning.
Local reports say police have confirmed there is no foul play suspected in the man's death, and his family has been notified.
"This appears to have been an unfortunate accident (the man) had been out socialising with friends on Saturday night," Sergeant Shaun Lingard told TV NZ.
"(The man's) family have been advised of the incident and have been offered our sincerest condolences."
The man had been living in Wellington for seven to eight years.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is providing consular assistance to the man's family.
