Books of Condolence for the families and friends of the victims of the Carrickmines tragedy are being opened by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council today.

Ten members of an extended family, including five children died at the weekend when a blaze broke out at a halting site on the Glenamuck road.

Investigators are still trying to establish the cause of the blaze in the early hours of Saturday.

A fund to help the families has been set up by the St. Vincent de Paul charity.
