Solicitor Brian O'Donnell has failed to leave his South Dublin home, despite the deadline for doing so passing.

Yesterday, his adult children had their injunction to stop the repossession of the Killiney home rejected by the High Court.

Bank of Ireland has served a notice of trespassing on O'Donnell and his wife, who've effectively barricaded themselves inside the property since Monday morning.

O'Donnell - who owes Bank of Ireland over €70m - has been served notice of trespass by Bank of Ireland and receivers after a bid by his family to block the repossession failed.

Legal papers were nailed to the gate of Mr O'Donnell's property on the Vico road by representatives of receivers last night.

The High Court yesterday rejected an attempt by the children of Brian and Mary Patricia O'Donnell to stop Bank of Ireland and the receivers taking possession of the house.

Members of the New Land League are also at the property.

Jerry Beades of the Land League says "The O’Donnells are a family besieged."

Bank Of Ireland had recovered the property as Mr O'Donnell and his wife Mary-Pat owed them over €70m. However the court has rejected their bid to stop a receiver taking possession of their mansion at Vico Rd, Killiney, county Dublin

The case is due to return to court tomorrow, if the family has not left the house.

The journalist Vincent Browne earlier led reporters on to the Gorse Hill property in South Dublin.

This afternoon, Vincent Browne led reporters through the gates of the house and on to the property:

Newstalk.com's reporter Richard Chambers told Newstalk Lunchtime about the scene in Killiney:

Reporters are now back outside the property, and Mr Browne is said to have left.
