TDs Roisin Shortall, Caoimhghin O'Caolain, Mary Mitchell O'Connor and Richard Boyd-Barrett along with MEP Mairead McGuinness also took the challenge at Trinity last week.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has also been nominated, but has yet to accept the challenge.
The initiative has so far raised more than €1.1m for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
