Californian restaurant causes controversy with strict 'no crying' kids policy

A popular restaurant on California's famous Fisherman's Wharf has effectively banned children from their dining room.

Old Fisherman's Grotto, has banned crying children as they feel they are a distraction to other customers.

A sign was placed at the entrance of the restaurant stating that all strollers, high chairs and booster chairs were banned from the restaurant. 

It further stated that all crying children or children making loud noises would not be allowed in the dining room as they are a distraction.

The restaurant has since caused serious controversy after pictures of the sign at the San Francisco restaurant surfaced online.

However, the restaurant owner, Chris Shake has responded to the controversy telling the Daily Mail, "Let's put it this way, I haven't had a down year for over 20 years. Our business continues to grow." 

The restaurant is located on the Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, California which is a popular tourist and family holiday destination.
