A new report shows housing is the main block to addressing the problem of homelessness across Ireland, with long social housing waiting lists cited as a particular issue.
That's according to the Simon Community, which is set to launch a new report in Waterford later this morning.
The group is calling on the government to introduce a ‘housing-led’ approach to tackle the issue.

The organisation says there are over 89,000 households on the social housing waiting list across Ireland.
The National Spokesperson for the Simon Community Niamh Randall says "homelessness is the most acute form of social housing need and must be prioritised in Budget 2015":
