Lucinda Creighton says she doesn't want to see the 'parish pump' style of Irish politics continue any longer.

The former Fine Gael junior minister this week launched her new political party Renua Ireland. She spoke to Shane Coleman on today's Sunday Show, and explained that Renua would offer the Irish electorate a new type of politics not governed by party whips. 

The party hopes to run between 40 and 50 candidates in the next general election.

Electoral reform is one of the key policies of the new party, and Deputy Creighton says the current style of Irish politics needs to be changed:

The leader of Ireland's newest political party also says the objectives set out for Irish Water have been 'abysmally abandoned'.

Mrs Creighton says that centralising the water system is a good idea. Renua Ireland say if they're elected, their party will establish an alternative.

Deputy Creighton thinks the Irish Water entity is a 'stitch up':
