Speaking to Ger Gilroy and Colm Parkinson, Brady looked ahead to this Sunday's final and he reckons that there are a number of question makrs hanging over both sides, particularly Dublin.

“There are only two question marks over Mayo and I can answer both right now, Cillian O'Connor and Andy Moran will both start. For Dublin there are a few. Do you start Kevin Nolan or Philly Mahon? Ger Brennan has to be considered aweakness, do you replace him with Dennis Bastick? I think Dublin need to start their best team and that includes Kevin McMenamin. Jim Gavin needs to start McMenamin ahead of one of the younger boys. Mannion, Kilkenny, McCaffery are all playing their first All-Ireland final. They are fine players but this is a big day."

Brady, who played in four senior All-Ireland finals for Mayo between 1996 and 2006, admits that there is a nervousness ahead of the game, both as a former player and as a fan.

"I am nervous, but talk to any ex-footballer from Dublin and they would be nervous too. That nervousness will be there until it happens and a Mayo man picks up that piece of silver. The All-Ireland experience from last year will stand to James horan and all those players.”

Two time young player of the year Cillian O'Connor is an injury doubt for Mayo having dislocated his shoulder for the third time in a year against Tyrone in the semi final but Brady thinks he will be given a chance to start and should start in the final.

“There is a rule in the Mayo camp. If you don’t take part in a competitive game for seven days before a match you are not considered. Cillian O’Connor did take part in a competitive training game last weekend in Enfeild and spent three hours kicking frees.”

When pressed on picking a winner the 2004 All-Ireland club winner could not trump for one side over the other at this early stage. It is nearly impossible to pick a winner this far out from the final but Brady does think it will be a fantastic game which Mayo have the capability of winning.

“I don’t think it will be a shootout. Mayo are capable of defending a lead. It’s set up for a fantastic game but I cannot call it until both teams are named. We have the two best teams in the country and over the next few days the atmosphere will be amazing.”
