A meeting is taking place today between the Department of Education and school principals in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare on educational provision for refugee children, KFM report.
The Hazel Hotel in the town is becoming a reception and orientation centre for 520 Syrian refugees, who will be accommodated there in groups of around 70 people at a time, between now and the end of 2016.
No decision has yet been taken as to whether the children will attend school locally or will receive tuition on site in the centre.
