There was a mixed bag on the front pages of today’s papers, with the ongoing refugee crisis, leaks of HSE funding shortfalls, and threats to free travel all grabbing space.

The Irish Examiner leads with the headline “Ireland urged to take in more refugees”, while the Independent is focused on a story about the HSE needing an extra €1.9bn in funding in the 2016 Budget.

The Irish Times meanwhile leads with “Peak-time restrictions sought on free travel scheme”.

In the tabloids there’s coverage of Graham Dwyer’s life in prison, and on the boating tragedy off the coast of Wexford that saw an elderly man die.

Meanwhile Kieran Cuddihy was bemused to see his native Kilkenny missing out on another gong for its cleanliness, while Ivan was taken with a story about the effects on the brain of a sex change.
