The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) says it is "deplorable" that neither Angela Kerins or Frank Flannery attended the hearing today.

John McGuinness has asked Rehab directors to pass on an urgent plea for the two former CEOs to attend a hearing in future.

The Committee was today told that the company which paid Angela Kerins' salary is 40% funded by the taxpayer but that she is threatening legal action if further details of her salary are published.

John McGuinness he wants full assistance from everyone connected to Rehab, and that there is no excuse for either of the two former CEOs to avoid the Committee in future.

Earlier, the chairman of the Rehab Group said he did not know how much Frank Flannery was being paid in consultancy fees. It has emerged today that the Rehab former CEO was paid over €400,000 in consultancy fees between 2007 and 2013, for work commissioned by his successor Angela Kerins.

The group Director of Finance said he now accepts that no director of Rehab should be receiving any payment for other duties.

And the chairman Brian Kerr has told independent Deputy Shane Ross he did not know how much Mr. Flannery was charging.

The PAC has also been told that the former CEO Angela Kerins will threaten legal action if further details of her former pay and conditions are released.

Lawyers for Ms. Kerins yesterday complained that the PAC was straying beyond its remit, while former board member Frank Flannery said he could not contribute to the issues the committee wanted to discuss.

Last night the PAC wrote back to both, telling Ms. Kerins that she had already allowed it to stray beyond its remit by agreeing to disclose the terms and conditions of her salary.

The Taoiseach has refused to take questions over the issue today.

The Committee also disclosed the salaries of seven other senior executives at the Rehab Group.
