The business group DublinTown is appealing to unions at Irish Rail to call off tomorrow's strike action - saying it'll have a huge impact on the city's economy.

DublinTown says it could cost the capital up to €25 million euro per each day of action.

Workers at Irish Rail will engage in a 48 hour work stoppage between tomorrow and Monday - with more action taking place on the days of both All Ireland Finals next month.

DublinTown CEO Richard Guiney said the timing of the strike is particularly unfortunate from the perspective of Dublin attracting visitors: “It is very unfortunate - it at a time when Dublin welcome the whole of the country, indeed the whole of the world to the city, and it is unfortunate that some people will be seriously discommoded and may not come to Dublin on those weekends.”
