In a BBC interview this week, Hossein Askari, Professor of International Business and International Affairs at George Washington University said a study by himself and colleague Dr Scheherazde S Rehman found that Ireland ‘the most truly Muslim country in the world’ and compliant with ideals of the Koran.  In carrying out the study, they applied the ideals of Islam in the areas of a society’s economic achievements, governance, human and political rights, and international relations, he said.

But what exactly is the bases of Islamic banking and how does it differ to the Western approach?  Islamic Finance is growing in popularity since the recession but how does it work?

Noel Lourdes, Executive Director of Amanie Advisors in Dublin joined Sean today to discuss just that.
