Egyptian authorities have conducted the first execution over the violence that followed Mohammed Morsi's overthrow in 2013.
Mahmoud Ramadam, a supporter of Morsi who was convicted of murder, was hanged today.
The conviction related to his involvement in the throwing of two youth from a rooftop in Alexandria. Footage of the incident, in which one of the youths died, was widely broadcast in the country at the time.

Hundreds of arrests, many targeted at the Islamic Brotherhood, followed the violence that saw 18 people killed.
