The founder of Boards.ie has criticised Senator Lorraine Higgins' new bill which proposes to have cyberbullies jailed.

The Labour senator has again been targeted by online trolls, and has made a complaint to the Gardai about the threat's she's received online.

However Tom Murphy of Boards.ie says the bill tries to deal with complex social problems through a blunt and poorly defined legal instrument.

He says the culture of cyber bullying can be changed through education.
