The victim of a gangland murder in north Dublin last week has been laid to rest as gardaí continue their hunt for his killer.
Benny Whitehouse was shot dead just moments after dropping his daughter off at the local national school last Thursday morning.
A huge crowd flocked to St Peter and Paul's Church in Balbriggan this morning for the funeral mass. Gardaí were also there in force.
It has been almost a week since the father of two was gunned down just a short walk from where his funeral took place.
He was shot several times after returning to his car on Clonard Street, just moments after dropping his young daughter to school.
His partner was also shot in the leg but survived the attack.
No arrests have yet been made but gardaí are looking into Mr Whitehouse's involvement in an ongoing feud between traveller families in the area.
