Gardai in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a fatal shooting in Drumcondra yesterday.
It happened shortly after 11.30 this morning on Church Avenue, when the victim was shot in his car.
The getaway car – an Audi A3 - was found burned out close by and the scene has now been sealed off for a forensic examination.
Superintendent Finbar Murphy from Ballymun Garda station told journalists this afternoon that two of the assailants crashed their car into a wall before setting it on fire and then setting off on foot.
The men were wearing a grey jacket and a dark jacket, respectively, with both wearing balaclavas. The men then ran down Grace Park road in the direction of Tolka Park.
Paul Kavanagh was shot dead in an attack as he sat in a Volkswagen Passat on Church Avenue in Drumcondra at around 11.30 yesterday morning. It's reported he had been under the surveillance of his killers.

The body of the man was found in a busy residential area in Drumcondra - outside the Cat and the Cage pub on Church Avenue.
It is a popular venue for student teachers at St Patrick’s College, and match-goers at Croke Park.
