Gardai have seized computers, cash, documentation and two firearms as part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity.

Officers - from the Organised Crime and Emergency Response Units, the Criminal Assets Bureau and National Bureau of Criminal Investigations- carried out 30 searches earlier this morning, at a number of locations in County Kildare, Dublin, Cork and Louth.

The searches included private dwellings and business premises.

Antique furniture and paintings were also seized during the raids.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
