People are being urged to be vigilant for counterfeit €50 notes. Gardai believe there is a sizeable quantity of the forged money currently in circulation around the country.
It comes after a recent raid on a premises on the North Circular Road in Dublin.
Printing paper to produce €2 million worth of counterfeit €50 notes was discovered at the scene.
Three men arrested during the operation appeared in court earlier this week.
It was part of an ongoing operation to counter the activities of dissident republican groups.
As part of the operation four houses were searched in the north Dublin area, and a commercial premises searched in Co. Meath. A large sum of the counterfeit money also was recovered, along with a range of printing equipment and computers.
