In case you hadn't noticed, it is a scorcher out there today but those conditions are not set to continue for the rest of this week.

Although Met Eireann are currently reporting a high temperature of 24 degrees, that's set to take a turn for a, what they are calling, fresher week.

Wednesday will be warm and mostly dry again, but cloudier in the west with scattered outbreaks of rain. There is also the risk of a thundery shower over the east later in the day. Sea fog may affect east and north coasts.

Top temperatures again of 18 to 25 degrees, warmest over Leinster and Ulster in light variable winds.

Temperatures will be down a few degrees on Thursday and it will feel fresher. Generally bright conditions with sunny spells but scattered showers also and some are likely to be heavy. Afternoon temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees C. and light southwesterly winds.

Warmer and more humid on Friday. Many places will be dry with sunny spells developing especially in central and eastern areas, cloudier in the west and southwest with some showery rain in places there. Afternoon temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees C in freshening southerly breezes.

Cooler over the weekend with afternoon temperatures more typically in the high teens.

The message really is, make sure you catch the one day of summer out there.
