The Governor of the Central Bank says he's leaving the job a year early - because it's the right time to go.
Patrick Honohan is to depart by November - six years into his seven year appointment.
He says he informed the Finance Minister Michael Noonan of his decision in the first week of April, and denies that there is any dispute with the Government or anyone else.
