A heating contractor and plumber has been cleared of the manslaughter of a women at a Cork hotel.
Miriam Reidy (35) was found dead at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale on January 9th 2011, where she had been attending a hen party for her cousin.
She had been overcome by carbon monoxide gas. Her sister was also found unconscious in the room they were sharing, but was revived by paramedics.
Richard Davis of Killanully, Ballygarvan, Co Cork had converted a gas boiler at the hotel a few days earlier.
He was today acquitted of manslaughter by a jury at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
Mr Davis was also cleared of two breaches of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.
