Guus Hiddink is to be the next Netherlands manager, and will succeed Louis Van Gaal following this summer’s World Cup.

The former Chelsea boss will take over the national side until the end of Euro 2016, when current assistant manager Danny Blind takes charge.

Blind and former Manchester United strike Ruud Van Nistelrooy will act as Hiddink’s assistants until Blind’s takeover following the European Championship in France.

Van Gaal, who has been I charge of the Dutch national side since 2012, has recently been linked with taking over from Tim Sherwood as Tottenham manager. Van Gaal’s contract expires following the World Cup.

Hiddink most recently managed Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, leaving last summer, and has previously managed Russia, Australia,
