Manchester City's title bid has received a major boost with the news that Sergio Aguero has been included in their squad for Sunday's clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

The Argentine striker has not played since March 12th due to a hamstring injury, but could now make a timely return for the game that is being billed as a potential title decider.

The Sky Blues appear less fluent up front when the dynamic forward is absent and although Yaya Toure has overtaken him as the club's top scorer this season, the Argentina international remains City's most prolific striker this season with 15 league goals.

Aguero has missed 14 of his club's 31 Premier League matches this season and in those games, City have won 10 times, lost twice and drawn twice. Interestingly, one of those victories was the 2 - 1 win over Liverpool in December, although refereeing decisions did impact on that result.

But in those matches, City averaged 2.14 goals per game, whereas Manuel Pellegrini's men have scored 3.18 goals when he has been on the pitch.

Excluding Michah Richards and Javi Garcia, who are not exactly shot happy, Aguero has the best shot accuracy in the Man City squad with 61 per cent of his shots hitting the target. His goal conversion rate is also a hugely impressive 25.9 per cent which is higher than Luis Suarez (21.6), Daniel Sturridge (25.3) and Wayne Rooney (20) among this season's top scoring strikers.

And according to Squawka, City have created 13.6 chances per game this season but that rate drops to 12.8 without Aguero.

So, his return gives Liverpool something to think about in Sunday 1.37pm kick off which is live on Off The Ball.
