50 new jobs are being created at IBM in west Dublin. The company has opened its new state of the art European digital sales centre at their campus in Damastown.

The €20m investment will facilitate the company staff in chatting with clients through video conferencing, web chat and other social media platforms.

IBM has operations in more than 170 countries.

It opened its first Irish office in 1956 and today employs over 3,000 people here.

Its range of businesses include services, manufacturing, research and software development.

Along with its Dublin operations, it also has offices in Cork and Galway.
