Rio Ferdinand has reportedly been told that he will not be offered a new contract at Manchester United.
The Daily Mail reports that the club's chief executive, Ed Woodward informed the 35-year-old defender in the dressing-room after Sunday's final game at Southampton that he would not he given a contract extension.
Ferdinand is understood to be intent on continuing his playing career and has offers on the table from the MLS in America, as well as from China and the Middle East.
