Two mothers who have organised a sleep out at the Dáil this evening want the government to lower speed limits in housing estates.
The Road Traffic amendment bill is due to be debated and voted on in the Dáil this week.
The mother of 6-year-old Jake Brennan - who died tragically after colliding with a car outside his home in Kilkenny last year - wants a change to happen.
In the wake of his death his family set up 'Jake's Law', calling for a lower limit of 20km to be introduced in all housing estates.
Roseanne Brennan and her family gathered at Leinster House from 1:30pm to highlight their campaign.
They were joined by the Sinn Féin deputy leader, Mary Lou McDonald.
The government will decide on Tuesday whether it will allow the bill to pass.
