The jury in the trial of former Anglo Irish Bank Chairman Sean FitzPatrick has been given a media warning ahead of the opening of the case next Monday.

The 66 year old from Greystones today pleaded not guilty to 27 charges of failing to disclose the true value of multimillion euro loans between 2002 and 2007.

Judge Mary Ellen Ring has told the jury not to discuss the evidence or search on the internet for details of the case which will be opened by the prosecution next Monday.

She said while traditional media know the rules of court reporting they are unfortunately not the only ones dispersing information and if jury members see anything outrageous said about the case they are to bring it to her attention.

Prior to jury selection members of the panel were told they shouldn't serve if they've publically expressed views on Anglo or the banking crisis,, say on Twitter or Facebook, that could later cause embarrassment.

Former Anglo Chairman Sean FitzPatrick is accused of failing to disclose the true value of multimillion loans to the bank's auditors Ernst & Young.
