In recent months, home fans at Old Trafford had shown restraint and support for David Moyes as Manchester United's form on the pitch nosedived.

But the anger and ill-feeling towards the beleaguered manager was laid bare during Tuesday's derby defeat to Manchester City.

Some fans openly vented their fury at Moyes and some even reportedly abused Alex Ferguson for his lead role in appointing the former Everton boss.

But now a group of fans is now planning to up the ante according to the Republic of Mancunia.

The fans plan to hire a plane bearing an anti-Moyes banner to fly over Old Trafford.

A reference to the Chosen One banner which hangs at Old Trafford's Stretford End, the group of United supporters have paid £840 (€1,015) for a plane to carry a 'Wrong One - Moyes Out' banner over Old Trafford.
