Gardaí in Waterford, investigating a suspected sexual assault on a young girl, have arrested a 21 year old man.

He was detained in the Waterford area yesterday.

Officers say a teenage girl was attacked on the Tramore Road late Thursday night / Friday morning.

Gardaí say they're following a definite line of inquiry.
