A man in his twenties has died after being hit by a car in Derry.

The incident happened on the Glenshane Road, near the junction of the Drumahoe Road at around 1.50 a.m..

The PSNI are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Glenshane Road early this morning to get in touch.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen a young man wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans walking along the footpath or road to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station.
