Gardaí in Co Wicklow are appealing to anyone who witnessed a shooting in Bray yesterday to come forward.

A man in his mid-20s was found with gunshot wounds in the People's Park at around 5.30pm yesterday evening.

He was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the People's Park, Bray between 5pm and 6.30pm yesterday, to contact Bray garda station.

Local Sinn Fein Councillor John Brady is urging people with information to come forward.
