A man in his 30s have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in South Dublin yesterday.

65-year-old widow, Jane Braidwood, was attacked at her home in Clarinda Park East in Dun Laoghaire shortly before five o'clock yesterday evening.

She was taken by Ambulance to St. Vincent’s University Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The man was arrested at the scene and detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.

He is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court tomorrow morning.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
