Tributes are being paid to Eamon Gilmore, who lead the charge for same-sex marriage when he was leader of the Labour Party.

He pledged in 2011 that, if elected, his party would hold a referendum on gay marriage.

And Minister Alan Kelly says Mr Gilmore should be given huge credit.
