Rory McIlroy has admitted that his lack of consistency this season is starting to bother him.
The 25-year-old has won once this season but is struggling to rediscover the ability to reel off four consecutive low-scoring rounds as he seeks to add to his two major titles at this week's Open Championship.
After shooting a course record 64 on day one of the Scottish Open last Thursday, he carded a 78 on the Friday and McIlroy has admitted that his frustrating form is starting to bother him.
Meanwhile, Ian Poulter is set to play through the pain barrier this week.
The Ryder Cup star will be using painkillers after he jarred his wrist while competing at last week's Scottish Open.
However a scan has shown no damage to the tendons, so he will be able to take his place in the field at Royal Liverpool.
