Miss Y brings High Court proceedings aimed at stopping HSE inquiry into her care

Miss Y has brought High Court proceedings aimed at stopping a Health Service Executive inquiry into the care provided to her by various State agencies.

Miss Y was refused an abortion under new legislation after she said she was suicidal, and the child was delivered by caesarean section at 25 weeks.

Her solicitor Caoimhe Haughey joined Jonathan Healy on Lunchtime today to discuss the case.

"We felt there are concerns about the way that this inquiry was first commissioned, how it was set up, it's composition, the people that are on the inquiry team and handling this reporting and also the fact that a lot of documentation which I have been actively seeking hasn't been made available to me."

"There is no obstetrician or no consultant psychiatrist directly involved in the inquiry team."
