A new poll shows support for Fine Gael is recovering and a rise in the satisfaction rating of the Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

The latest Ipsos-MRBI survey in the Irish Times has support for the main government party at 24% - up five on the last poll.

The support rating for Mr Kenny meanwhile has jumped nine points to 28%.

Sinn Féin are still scoring well with voters - they are also on 24%, which is an increase of two points.

Labour are up one to 7%, while Fianna Fail have suffered a four point drop to 17%.

Independents are also down in this latest poll - they are now at 28% - a fall of four points.

Éamon Ó Cuív is Fianna Fáil TD for Galway-West.

He told Newstalk Lunchtime he is disappointed - but that leadership of the party is not to blame.
