The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee says they won't give up on efforts to have Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery answer more questions on the running of Rehab.

Neither appeared at a hearing to which they were invited yesterday.

Frank Flannery said he couldn't contribute to the issues being discussed, while Ms Kerins was absent on medical grounds.

Yesterday's hearing was told that Rehab paid Frank Flannery 4 hundred thousand euro in consultancy fees while he was on its board - and that 40 per cent of Angela Kerins salary came from the State.

Committee Chairman Deputy John McGuinness told Newstalk's Breakfast yesterday's hearing threw up more questions. He said Frank Flannery and Angela Kerins will be given one more chance to turn up, before further action is taken:

Meanwhile, the Health Minister has expressed "grave concerns" over any irregularities at Rehab after it was revealed that former CEO Angela Kerins signed off on €400,00 of payments for Frank Flannery without consulting the Board.

Minister James Reilly has also said the pair should make themselves available to the Public Accounts Committee.
