The trial for the murder of dissident republican Peter Butterly (35) has been hearing an eyewitness account from the scene of the shooting.

He was gunned down in the car park of the Huntsman Inn at Gormanston, Co Meath on March 6th last year.

A man who was standing at a nearby bus stop has told the non-jury Special Criminal Court that he heard shots, and saw a masked man chasing another man across the car park.

The accused - Edward McGrath of Land Dale Lawns, Springfield, Tallaght; Dean Evans of Grange Park Rise, Raheny and Sharif Kelly of Pinewood Green Road, Balbriggan, all in Dublin - deny the murder.
