Police in the North are appealing for information about a tiger kidnapping in the south Down area last night.

A woman (57) was forced by a number of men to leave her home on the Smalls Road in Warrenpoint and go to a nearby jewellers to take a number of items.

A man (53) and woman (20) were held at the house while she was gone.

All three were later abandoned in a field in the Mayobridge area. The kidnappers made off in an unknown vehicle.

Police say the family has been left shaken and distressed by their ordeal and they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
