Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has resigned following their group stage exit from the World Cup.

The former Fiorentina manager, led the Azzurri to the Euro 2012 final, but has left his position less than an hour after Italy lost 1 - 0 to Uruguay.

The 56-year-old took the Italy job after the nation's group stage exit in 2010 and had signed a deal tying him to the job until Euro 2016.
