Pro-life groups will hold a vigil this Saturday for the baby at the centre of the latest abortion case. The baby was delivered around 25 weeks into his mother's pregnancy.
The immigrant woman had requested an abortion at eight weeks, saying she she had become pregnant after being raped.
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is conducting a review into the timeframe and type of care offered to the woman, who was suicidal.
Niamh Uí Bhrian of the Life Institute says the legislation has failed the woman in this case, and the baby who is fighting for life.
The HSE will announce the terms of reference for its inquiry into the case later.
It is expected that a three person panel will form the HSE inquiry team, which will examine all facts surrounding the case.
Medical journalist Priscilla Lynch says this case may set a precedent.
