The former billionaire admitted he had made mistakes, but says he is not ashamed of what has happened to his family.

Quinn, who was once Ireland's richest man, was declared bankrupt here in the Republic last January after a previous declaration for bankruptcy was overturned in the North.

He's being pursued for loans of €2.8 billion from the former Anglo Irish Bank.

Sean Quinn spent nine weeks in jail last year for non-co-operation with the institution now known as IBRC, in relation to the Quinn family assets.

He told Newstalk's Pat Kenny Show he is not ashamed of those events and insisted the truth will out eventually:

Over the past few months Independent newspapers released numerous recordings of phone conversations within Anglo Irish Bank.

Speaking on Newstalk's Pat Kenny Show, Mr Quinn dismissed suggestions he supplied the tapes, adding that he never even saw them.

Responding to a question about whether the Quinns came across further tapes in the process of discovery during litigation, he said some have come into their possession:
