Gardaí in Cork are investigating after the remains of a baby were found at a house in the city.
The body of the newborn was found in a bin yesterday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.

The Irish Examiner reports that the mother of the girl - who is in her 20s - presented herself to gardaí yesterday, saying she had given birth to the child a few days previously.
