There's nothing like a new iPhone launch to reignite the seemingly endless 'Android vs iOS' debate. Last week's announcement of the bigger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has had the predictable effect on social networks and forums around the web, and Samsung is taking full advantage of it.

In their latest ad for the Galaxy Note 4, the phone manufacturer points out that they have been making 'phablets' since 2011 with their Note range. Not only that, but the ad takes great pleasure in pointing out how the original note was 'ahead of its time' and criticised by some for its size ("you look like you're talking into a piece of toast").

This isn't new territory for Samsung, who have made these sort of ads something of an annual tradition:

We can't forget that Apple made perhaps the most well-known competetive technology advertisements with their 'Get a Mac' series ("I'm a Mac..."), so it's all fair game.
