Formula One star Michael Schumacher could return home to his family next month if he continues to recover well, it has been reported.

Schumacher has begun to communicate with his family by fluttering his eye-lashes, but he still needs constant around the clock support. 

He has been making good progress in his recovery despite still being paralysed and could be released from hospital in the near future.

It was reported that doctors in Croatia have developed a revolutionary microchip implanting technique that could help the driver walk and talk again after he was seriously injured in a skiing accident and spent an extended period of time in a coma.

Doctors at the clinic in Switzerland hope to have Schumacher sitting upright in an electronic wheelchair that he can control with his mouth within a few weeks.
