The Taoiseach appears to have ruled out the prospect of a Dáil recall to discuss the Gaza crisis.
The Seanad will reconvene on Thursday to discuss the conflict which has led to the deaths of over 1,000 Palestinians.
The crisis in Ukraine is also expected to feature.
The move comes after a number of independent and opposition senators signed a petition asking for the House to be recalled to debate the Irish response to the crisis.
Foreign affairs minister Charlie Flanagan is expected to address Senators on the government response - including why Ireland abstained from a vote calling for an investigation of Israeli conduct.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he notes the Seanad decision to reconvene. But he did not mention any plans for a similar move in the Dáil.
